Robert E. Hoyt
Retired Partner

Robert E. Hoyt is the Chairman Emeritis of Partners for Corporate Renewal, Inc., a management advisory firm dedicated to assisting financially challenged clients in preserving and creating value through operations improvement and financial restructuring. As the former National Director of Coopers & Lybrand's Business Reorganization Services Group, Mr. Hoyt has over thirty years of diversified financial consulting experience with troubled companies, corporate bankruptcies and corporate finance. He has counseled lending institutions and senior operating executives in a wide range of industries in the formulation and implementation of financial, strategic, and corporate recovery plans. He has represented creditor committees and achieved high-value results in such cases as Harvard Industries, Servico (hotels), and Continental Airlines.

As an interim CEO and advisor to troubled companies, Mr. Hoyt has assessed competitive factors, implemented operational restructurings, planned company mergers and operational shutdowns, developed labor-related strategies, dealt with regulatory issues, and created non-traditional financing structures. In the past several years, he has served as CEO of a national refrigerated truckload carrier and as CEO of a chain of rural general hospitals operating in Chapter 11. He recently completed an assignment as CEO of a billion-dollar food wholesaler serving 350 retail grocery stores located in the Northwest, for which he received the 2002 Turnaround of the Year Award from the Turnaround Management Association.

As an expert witness, he has testified on matters involving bankruptcy, fraudulent conveyances, and lender liability. He has extensive experience in negotiating debt restructuring and formulating plans of reorganization. A skilled negotiator, he has developed strategies to maximize recoveries and has implemented action plans often in highly adversarial situations.

Mr. Hoyt has held executive positions in corporate finance and planning with a major NYSE Conglomerate where he advised corporate management in the areas of capital investment, financial restructuring, acquisition planning, asset divestitures and other strategies geared towards maximizing shareholder
value. As a corporate treasurer and former senior bank officer, he was involved in capital raising activities, including public offerings, asset-based lending, private placements, leasing and off-balance-sheet
financing vehicles.

Mr. Hoyt holds an MBA in Finance from Temple University, a BA from Bradley University and is a Certified Turnaround Professional and a Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Advisor. He has lectured at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School on Corporate Turnarounds and is a member of the
Turnaround Management Association and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
